At Royal Optics, we are committed to ensuring a transparent and legally compliant return process for customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other supported regions.


1. Right of Withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht – Germany & Austria)

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, including Germany and Austria, you have the statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you, or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier), takes physical possession of the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear statement (e.g., email).

Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract:

  • We will reimburse all payments received from you, including the standard delivery costs (if applicable).

  • We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is earlier.

  • You must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day you communicate your withdrawal.

You will bear the direct cost of returning the goods unless otherwise agreed.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.


2. Exclusions from the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • Custom-made or prescription lenses

  • Goods made to the consumer’s specifications

  • Sealed goods not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed

  • Gift cards


3. 30-Day Voluntary Return Policy

In addition to statutory rights, we offer a voluntary 30-day return policy from the date of delivery, provided that:

  • The item is unused

  • All original packaging and accessories are included

  • Proof of purchase is provided

  • The product passes inspection

This voluntary policy does not limit statutory consumer rights.


4. Defective or Incorrect Items (Gewährleistung)

If your order arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect, you are entitled to remedies under applicable consumer protection laws.

Depending on the situation, we may provide:

  • Replacement

  • Repair

  • Refund

There is no strict 7-day limitation under German or Austrian law — statutory warranty rights apply.


5. Exchanges

We offer exchanges within 30 days for:

  • Different lens strength

  • Alternative model (subject to availability)

Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the product is defective.


6. Return Procedure

To initiate a return, please provide:

  • Full name

  • Order number

  • Reason for return

  • Photos (if applicable)

Return instructions and address will be provided after approval.

We recommend using a tracked shipping method.


7. Refund Processing

Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Once approved, refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.

9. Switzerland

Swiss law does not provide a mandatory 14-day withdrawal right. However, Royal Optics voluntarily extends the same 14-day return policy to customers residing in Switzerland under the conditions described above.
